Nota: Marc Buie, co investigador de la mision New Horizons y jefe de la expedicion  en Argentina, tiene interes en la participación de observadores locales experimentados en la ocultacion del 17/7. 2014 MU69 es el nuestro objetivo de la sonda espacial NH luego de su encuentro con el sistema de Plutón. Es por eso que requieren mucha información terrestre desde este objeto del Cinturón de Kuiper. Las Ocultaciones de estrellas es un gran recurso para obtener esos datos tan valiosos para los investigadores de la misión NH. Se utilizarán telescopios reflectores de 40cm de abertura. A través de POCROA se está preparando un grupo expedicionario para cubrir el mismo con observadores locales; hasta ahora (19/6) son 15 los participantes.
